How to Order Custom Jute Bags in Bulk: A Step-by-Step Guide for First-Time Buyers

Published by Ecohub Bags · New Delhi
Why Jute Bags for Bulk Orders?
Before we get into the process, it helps to understand why so many Indian companies — from FMCG brands to hospitality groups to wedding planners — choose jute bags for their bulk requirements.
Jute is natural, biodegradable, and increasingly expected by customers who care about sustainability. For corporate buyers, it also photographs well, carries print beautifully, and holds its shape better than non-woven polypropylene alternatives. At scale, the per-unit cost is competitive with synthetic options — and the perceived value is significantly higher.
At Ecohub Bags, we've supplied custom jute bags to companies like ITC Hotels, Hyundai Mobis, and Gulab Brand — across corporate gifting, conferences, weddings, and retail. The process is the same whether you're ordering 100 bags or 10,000.
Step 1 — Define Your Requirements
Before contacting any manufacturer, have answers to these five questions ready. They determine everything from pricing to lead time:
- Quantity: How many bags do you need? Most manufacturers, including us, have a minimum order quantity of 100 bags per design or colour.
- Size: What dimensions do you need? Common sizes are 12×14 inches, 14×16 inches, and 16×18 inches — but custom sizes are available.
- Material: Natural jute, bleached jute, juco (jute-cotton blend), or canvas? Each has a different texture, weight, and price point.
- Customisation: Logo only, or full artwork? What printing method — screen print or DTF printing?
- Timeline: When do you need the bags delivered? Work backwards from your event or distribution date.
You don't need all the answers before reaching out — a good manufacturer will help you refine these. But having a rough idea saves time on both sides.
Step 2 — Send Your Enquiry
Contact the manufacturer with your basic requirements — bag type, quantity, size, and your logo or artwork if you have it. At this stage, a JPEG or PNG of your logo is sufficient. You don't need a print-ready file yet.
A reliable manufacturer will respond within a few hours with questions to clarify your requirement, not just a price. Be cautious of manufacturers who quote immediately without asking about your specific needs.
At Ecohub Bags, we respond on WhatsApp within 30 minutes during business hours (Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm IST).
Step 3 — Review the Digital Mockup
This is the most important step and the one most first-time buyers underestimate. Before any production begins, a reputable manufacturer will send you a digital mockup — a visual representation of exactly how your branded bag will look.
Review it carefully:
- Is the logo placement correct?
- Are the colours accurate? (Ask for Pantone references if colour-matching is critical)
- Is the size and proportion of the logo right relative to the bag?
- If there's text, is the font and spelling correct?
At Ecohub Bags, we provide the digital mockup free of charge, typically within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your artwork. We do not begin production until you give explicit written approval on the mockup.
Do not approve a mockup in a hurry. Changes after production begins are expensive and time-consuming.
Step 4 — Confirm the Order and Advance Payment
Once you've approved the mockup, the manufacturer will issue a proforma invoice or order confirmation. Standard practice in the Indian jute bag manufacturing industry is 50% advance before production and 50% before dispatch.
Make sure the order confirmation includes:
- Exact quantity and unit price
- Bag specifications (size, material, handle type)
- Confirmed print/embroidery specification
- Delivery timeline
- Delivery address
- GST details for invoice
All Ecohub Bags orders come with a proper GST invoice, which is important if you need to claim input tax credit.
Step 5 — Production
Once the advance is received and the mockup approved, production begins. Standard lead times for bulk jute bag orders in India are 7 to 12 working days, depending on quantity, complexity of print, and the manufacturer's current workload.
For orders above 1,000 units, ask for a mid-production update or photos of the first batch before the full run is completed. This is standard practice and any reliable manufacturer will accommodate this request.
Rush orders are possible — at Ecohub Bags we've fulfilled urgent corporate orders in 7 to 10 days — but always communicate your deadline upfront, not after placing the order.
Step 6 — Quality Check and Dispatch
Before dispatch, the manufacturer should conduct a quality check — verifying print quality, bag dimensions, handle strength, and overall finish. Ask for pre-dispatch photos, especially for your first order with a new manufacturer.
Once you approve, the remaining balance is paid and the bags are dispatched. For Pan-India delivery, most shipments arrive within 2 to 5 working days depending on your location.
At Ecohub Bags, we ship to all Indian states except West Bengal, with GST invoice provided on dispatch.
Common Mistakes First-Time Buyers Make
- Leaving it too late: A 10 to 21 day lead time means you need to place your order at least 4 weeks before your event, ideally 6 weeks.
- Not providing print-ready artwork: A low-resolution JPEG will not reproduce well at scale. Ask your designer for a high-resolution PNG or vector file (AI, EPS, or SVG).
- Approving the mockup without checking colour: Screen colours and printed colours differ. If colour accuracy is critical, ask for a physical sample first.
- Ordering the exact quantity you need: Always order 5 to 10% more than you need. Printing and cutting tolerances mean you may receive slightly fewer bags than ordered, and having extras is always useful.
- Not asking for a GST invoice: Always request a proper GST invoice. It protects you legally and allows you to claim input tax credit.
How Long Does the Whole Process Take?
Here's a realistic timeline for a standard bulk jute bag order:
| Stage | Duration |
|---|---|
| Initial enquiry and quote | Same day |
| Digital mockup | 24–48 hours |
| Mockup approval and advance payment | 1–2 days |
| Production | 7–12 working days |
| Balance payment and dispatch | 1 day |
| Delivery | 2–5 working days |
Total: approximately 3 to 5 weeks from first enquiry to delivery. Plan accordingly.
